This was from an impromptu trip to camp in Baxter State Park a few years ago. We had to switch campsites in order to get the number of days we wanted to stay, but they were very close to each other and it wasn't a big deal. What was a big deal was the experience of staying there. It was magical. This scene is from a late kayak paddle my husband took to enjoy the still lake and amazing evening light. I did this first as a watercolor, but wanted to explore the image in oils. This was from an impromptu trip to camp in Baxter State Park a few years ago.
