On the grass, under the stars, folks gather with their chairs and blankets to enjoy the good old fashioned joy of an outdoor band concert. I loved watching the children dance and run to the music, their parents and grandparents enjoying the show. And I loved that my husband was up there on the stage, playing the tuba as part of the community band. It seemed to distill the joys of summer into a moment of musical celebration.
