We had a crab apple tree in our yard when our children were growing up. It grew old, and an arborist recommended taking it out, but our children loved to climb up in it, and occasionally to use it to hide in while they read. And so we left it to live out its full life, and in return it gave joy to our children. It seemed a great trade. We had a crab apple tree in our yard when our children were growing up.
