The bright foreground juxtaposed against the greyed distance caught my attention when we were hiking last autumn. I love the sense of distance, and the glimpse of the lake between the trees. Hiking in the woods in Maine and New England is like a treasure hunt, with vistas as the reward, often unexpected and priceless.
