We had come to see our new home, and it was winter. Any change, even good change, comes with a myriad of emotions. But for this change, we would be uprooting from a beloved home and community and coming to something completely new. Two things won over our hearts: the people who welcomed us, and this view. We stood on Main Beach at sunrise on a cold February morning. From here we would drive north, pack up, and move back down here to live. The achingly beautiful sunrise and the ancient sound of the sea both reminded me that change is ever present, and good. And that tide and sunrise are companions along the way, the beating heart of a life unfolding. While I miss our home in Maine, I am also glad to be moving forward to new adventures in this place.
