There is snow on the ground outside, but inside I am reminded that spring is coming by the tulips given me for my birthday. They are my favorite flower. I love most flowers (even lavender, to which I am allergic), but tulips are special. Maybe it's because they are some of the first flowers available each spring, but they always make me feel happy and cheerful. This tulip broke and could not go into the bouquet with the others. I put it into a small glass with water and set it on my kitchen window sill, where the light makes it glow each day. I love that the one was was broken has brought me the most joy.
