A hidden treasure within an easy drive of Portland, Maine, this preserve is one of our favorite walks. From watching the running of the alewives in the late spring, through the shaded relief of summer walks and into the spectacular colors of fall, we love it in all seasons. This winter we hope to snowshoe our way through the same paths. I loved how the rustic boards led into the scene before us one day this fall, and decided to paint it.
