On a recent visit to Vinalhaven, my daughter and I visited this quarry. There was no one else there, but it was set up for swimming - with life rings at strategic locations. We finished our visit with a dip in these cool waters, enjoying the refreshing cold and the fun of being in such a beautiful setting. I prefer wild settings to pools (although on a hot day, a pool is a great thing). Rivers, streams, oceans, lakes, and now a quarry, I have taken a dip in all of them.
