I wanted to paint the whole tree. I tried for a long time to capture the light and shadow, but it kept looking wrong. And so I sanded down my previous attempts, applied a thin layer of linseed oil and used what was already on my palette to create this. Sometimes you have to give up trying hard for a certain outcome, and destroy something to make something new. Art teaches life. I wanted to paint the whole tree.
