We met up with friends for some skating earlier this month. Several of us sat on chairs to the side while enjoying the scenes unfolding before us. Groups of friends raced after hockey pucks, others flew across the ice in windy freedom, and others introduced their children to the magic of skating. I loved this dad with his daughter, instilling the joy of winter that will last a lifetime. And by the end of an hour or so, our chairs had sunk into the ice about an inch or two.
