That last, brilliant glimpse of the sun as it sets is mesmerizing. All around, clouds flash with luminous glory, with almost impossible intensity. We saw this sunset in Costa Rica, but the same beauty is available everywhere. Light shows play out each night all across the world. When you fly at sunset, you can look back and forth to the two horizons and see the flow of light into dark. But from the ground, it is more about the changing reflection of light against the droplets of the clouds, mirroring the prism of light as it dips below the horizon.
