We pick apples every year, and love our visits to the orchards. When our children were young, we chose those with corn mazes and petting zoos. Now an orchard with a view (and maybe an apple donut or two) is just as fun. Last year we stumbled on one that had live music and a place to eat lunch. Whatever the extras, the joy of picking the fruit off the tree and bringing it home to make good things, that is enough. Everything else is extra.
