The only way to reach the island of Vinalhaven, off the coast of Maine, is by boat. This is what the approach looked like early one summer morning, before the fog had burned off. This is an encaustic piece.
(Encaustic is a process in which you paint with melted wax, fusing each layer together. When polished it gives a luminescence not seen in other mediums.)
