Media: The encaustics are done on encausticbord (by ampersand) which is a prepared hard board, 1/8" in thickness.

$100 for UNFRAMED piece.
$150 for FRAMED piece. As so often happens with paintings, this piece started out as something completely different. Unhappy with the end result I began scraping off the wax layers only to discover a background I loved. It then took on a life of its own as I added graphite and embossing powder into the wax. I love the way this piece turned out and may try for a larger version.(Encaustic is a process in which you paint with melted wax, fusing each layer together. When polished it gives a luminescence not seen in other mediums.)
