3-5-20 study Here's where the Platte River flows into Lake Michigan in the Sleeping Bear Dunes Naional Lakeshore. This is how it looks in late winter, early spring. If it were summer... this scene would be filled with people enjoying the water and the sand. My focus on this one was- diagonals, a path (even though it's an implied path back around the bend in the river) and some surprising color (the bits of reddish orange peeking out) I'm enjoying the change of subject for this class. (Ardith Goodwin- Journal of Interesting) For the next few weeks, I'll be painting these studies- so they won't really be warm-ups, but more experiments- while I get used to the subject. This one is painted on a 6x6 canvas, painted on the sides, wired and ready to hang. 3-5-20 study Here's where the Platte River flows into Lake Michigan in the Sleeping Bear Dunes Naional Lakeshore.
