2-2-21 warm-up Day 2 in the #28februaryflowers2021 challenge with Amanda Evanston. Today’s prompt was lilac. I don’t often paint with purples, so it was a challenge for me! I added some Kousa Dogwood to the bouquet, since it blooms at the same time as our lilacs. I like to do these small warm-up paintings or studies before a painting session. They loosen me up and get me ready to dive in to my day in the studio. This painting is matted with a backing and slipped into a protective sleeve. It’s ready to pop into a standard 8x10 frame.
