Pepper is the 8th month old daughter of mine. (granddaughter) I imagine all grandparents slip from time to time. We think the babies of our children are ours because we love them so much and watch in amazement at every move they make as a miracle of life. Of course it is. The real story. This little Pepper was being spooned her oatmeal and suddenly stopped to look at the new bouquet of flowers. She looked at me and then looked at the flowers over a few times until I caught the clue. I spoke to her in Spanish and brought the flowers closer so she could touch and see them better. Her feet danced in her high chair as she smiled and looked at me, touched the pedals and listened to my best Spanish. Therefore, it follows that I must paint. After 6 sessions this painting hangs above my fireplace. Me thinks, Pepper was more excited by the real flowers than my painting but........that opens up a new delight that she will be a gardening buddy for me. I embrace that thought wholeheartedly.
