Media: Watercolor Canvas Panel
Size: 8x10 in
This Red-Tailed Hawk was sitting in a tree in my front yard and I was able to get several photos before he flew off. It was cold that day, so I suppose he had his feathers fluffed out a little for extra insulation. I used a combination of wet-in-wet and sharp focused brushwork to get the effect I was after. Small dogs and cats need to look over their shoulder when this one is around. This is an 8 x 10 original watercolor on a rigid watercolor canvas panel. It is protected by a non-yellowing artist's varnish. This Red-Tailed Hawk was sitting in a tree in my front yard and I was able to get several photos before he flew off.
