Media: Pen and Ink Canson sketch paper
Size: 8.5x5.5 in
I sat out in my father-in-law's backyard and rendered this in pen and ink on top of a light pencil sketch. I had forgotten about this drawing and just found it in an infrequently used sketchbook. I was visually attracted to the textures and character of the upward thrusting twigs and the deep contrasts in the sprouting undergrowth. I don't know how to say this without sounding elitist, but having a few black and white pen and ink or pencil sketches on your wall lends a touch of elegance that can even go beyond a color painting sometimes.
