The Mediterranean coast of Provence is famous for its beautiful coastline. There still are coastal villages where these little fishing boats are moored in the port. They are called “pointu”. I painted this en plein air with a focus on drawing, shape and value. I finished it in the studio using my iPad for reference. The photo image was on 'live" setting and in constant motion, almost like real life. The flags fluttered and the boats bobbed as the setting was “looped”. I get to do this again in the fall.
