In the fall the light coming into the living room is so beautiful, reflecting from a red Japanese maple. This complicated scene was a challenge, but I had to try. It's good to stretch ourselves sometimes. As I was painting the dog, I thought of Velazquez's Las Meninas so had to go look that up. It was a different breed, different pose. This is unframed.
