Usually I paint from life or at least from something I started on location, but I just really felt compelled to paint this. A had a little gouache from a similar scene in the area and a photo. It is a wonderful and popular hike near Bend. If you look closely, there is a dog at the water’s edge trying to decide whether or not to follow his master into the cold water.
