I went with a sketching group to the Zen Center in Ashland, which was a tranquil spot. Benches and chairs often call to me to paint them. This is painted in gouache on paper and is unframed. I prefer not to varnish gouache since it darkens them. It should be protected under glass or just not gotten wet, since the paint would be marred by water.
