I have a good feeling about this painting. I was trying to work from the heart and had to let go of being a perfectionist in order to work quickly enough to finish this relatively large painting before the roses wilted. Working from photographs just isn't the same. The eye can see so much more variation in color and value. I have a good feeling about this painting.
