Media: acrylic on canvas panel
Size: 5x5 in
5x5" acrylic on canvas panel. The panel has a fine "portrait weave" and is lovely to paint on. One of "my" cowboys! When I was a girl, I loved the old TV Western re-runs and I used to watch TV with my sketchbook and draw these dreamy cowboys as I watched the episodes. Now every once in a while I hark back to my youth and paint one of my dreamy cowboys. I didn't use a photo reference and this guy isn't anyone in particular. He is just a mixture of all the TV Western rerun heroes of my youth. This is a departure—acrylics! I'm going to be delving into acrylics for a while (I think) because I want to become more proficient with them. I love my oils and will never give them up, but acrylics have their own charms and it's a good time to brush up on my acrylics skills. As always, a disclaimer that colors show differently on every device and display. I tried to make the colors as accurate as I could, but the colors won't show up identically on everyone's computers or phones everywhere. 5x5" acrylic on canvas panel.
