Media: Oil on linen panel
Size: 8x8 in
There's no time to drive to the beach during the school week, but I really needed to feel a sunny breeze so I parked my New Wave U.GO Anywhere pochade box on the corner of my desk and spent my lunch and some time after school painting Galveston's East Beach. After starting with a 1/2" stiff bristle brush to quickly lay in the scene, I used an Oakblade palette knife to layer color and thick textures on top. "East Beach st Dawn" is an 8" x 8" oil painting on a Centurion OP DLX oil primed linen panel. It'll arrive well packed and ready to frame. *** I’m a Texas based artist finding inspiration in the everyday beauty of the world. I’ve been a public-school teacher for 20+ years (say a prayer for me.) I’m also a musician, a husband, a father, and an animal lover. I’ve been fortunate over the years to show my paintings at the Longview Miseum of Fine Arts, the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, the Museum of East Texas, the Dishman Art Museum, the Museum of the Gulf Coast, and the Mesquite Arts Center as well as in galleries throughout the country. My paintings have appeared in American Art Collector, Art Reveal Magazine, the Austin Chronicle, the Dallas Observer, Empty Easel, Professional Artist Magazine, VIP, Voyage, and more. I’m honored to have paintings in homes and collections in more than thirty states in the U.S. and hope to one day have paintings in all Fifty Nifty United States and overseas.
