Galveston Island State Park is one of my favorite spots to watch the sunrise over the Gulf. Sometimes the light is so intense the small clumps of sea weed and salt grass are silhouetted against an almost blinding bombardment of yellow, orange and reddish hues. The park has had some recent renovations and makes a great day trip or campout so hit the road and see for yourself.  ​​​​​​​
