Going into my studio, painting what I find beautiful, is a tonic. Here I’ve painted my love for the airiness, color, wildness of sweet peas, their entrancing tendrils. They’re called “sweet” for their lovely fragrance. I imagined them fresh from the spring garden placed in an earthenware blue jar on a sea of stripes.
