The time of year is the summer when the sun sets behind the hills in Vilanova at my favorite beach. While painting this, I needed to really keep in mind the sun's glow in each brushstroke. Everything is touched by its light and at this very special hour of the day, when the sun is setting, one really feels and sees that special radiance in everything. What could be more beautiful and magical. To paint is not to copy the object slavishly, it is to grasp a harmony among many relationships. Paul Cezanne.
