For those of you who grew up in mid-Michigan, you know there is something magical and homey about those flat fields, drainage ditches, and wide open skies. Other people might think those landscapes (no hills, few trees) are duller than doorknobs, but not me. I thought about growing up in the country the whole time I worked on this piece.
