Off to the market to buy flowers for a still life painting. Arriving home, I learn there has been a casualty. Found near the driveway in the snow, still perfectly formed. Not an apparent violent attack by hawk or feral cat. Mother Nature took him back, the winter just too harsh on his tender little body. Rest in peace little bird.
