Media: Gouache on Arches hot-pressed watercolor paper
Size: 8x10 in
My final painting from a weekend in San Francisco. This one didn’t come easy, but it was a lot of fun. I was most nervous about that rock- where to place it in the composition; and how to make it not look like an awkward flat dark shape, since there wasn’t any light touching it when I started, but I’m very pleased with the result. Originally this scene was a bit “flat”, but as the sun moved around the bridge the whole view came to life, and I rolled with it. This is one of the very few examples of when chasing the light worked out. *does not include matte or frame. Please reach out to me if you'd like to purchase this piece framed.
