Finally got to paint this beauty from underneath! I’ve always wanted to paint the downtown portion of the river from within, but never knew how to get down there. Well, today I figured it out.
This is the Fourth street bridge, and probably my favorite of all the LA River bridges still standing. Built in 1931. I’ve painted it a few times before from other vantage points, but never this close.
Also included a few photos I took while I was down there.
I regret never having a chance to see the original sixth street bridge. Doubtless we would’ve gotten along very well.
