Media: oil on linen panel, 9X12
Size: 12x9 in
This painting was one that I began during a workshop. I brought it home and put it away until recently. When I decided to finish it, I used my photo of the setup and realized it was more than half way completed! I tried getting more transparency in the blossoms, and a little coaxing of the darks to bring out the light! In this painting there is a pathway from the pink geraniums to the yellow pansies, then down to the white pansies and over to the lovely white ceramic and back up to the pink geraniums. The darks in the leaves and background help to keep the eye moving within from color to color. I think that is called good design! I hope it works for me in this painting!
