I'm not really sure why but lately I've been painting lots of sunflowers. I do love these sunny happy flowers they make me smile. This one is painted on masa paper. It's a fun technique where you get the masa paper wet first and then squeeze all the water out and attach the wet paper to the watercolor paper. I think it gives the painting the look of a batik.
