A mini painting!

I'm doing a series of large paintings with many different objects in them, some of which I feel the need to study separately before I begin. This is not the first time I've painted a donut, but this particular donut had sprinkles and shiny chocolate glaze, and my OCD wanted me to overthink it. Taking the time to play with the design before I start it on the larger canvas helped to really get me in the flow. And look how cute and happy it turned out!

For those wondering, yes, I took the bite out of the donut beforehand. All in the name of artistic accuracy. It made the composition better. That's why I bit into it. Not because I wanted to eat the donut and couldn't wait. Nope. Definitely not for that reason.
