This painting literally came about because I wanted an excuse to paint swirling, splashing water and was in the mood for a humorous composition, as usual. The thought of a freaked out cat surrounded by swirls of water seemed the most obvious choice and this vintage kitty design has been something of an alter-ego for me for some time now. In some ways, this little chap, surrounded by roiling, splashing liquid, represents me on any given morning after I've had my coffee while making the mistake of reading the latest news.
