Size: 5x5 in
This summer I decided to take a break from daily painting and social media to coincide with my kids summer break. I love the summer time, the sun is shining and the schedule is not as crazy. I worked on a summer project of transcriptions of landscape art of two artists I admire, Edgar Payne and Joaquin Sorolla. I painted nine small 4"x 6" paintings that I learned so much from. I have been thinking a lot about how I want to paint and what I want to put out into the world. In May of 2020, I started daily painting with no prior experience to teach myself art. It has been a windy road but I am feeling a bit settled on the things I want to focus on. It's almost like I am going back to where I started. One of the first books I got was Daily Painting by Carol Marine. I just love the concepts of this book. Back in 2020, pandemic times daily painting was a little easier for me but now I am embracing a the movement I call daily"ish" painting. I am a firm believer the more often you do something the better you get. If you want to see where I started in 2020 scroll through my Instagram page @taitpreisart. So as the kids gear up to go back to school and orientation for my youngest starting next week. I am going to ease back into my daily"ish" painting. I hope you enjoy following my progress as much as I enjoy doing it! This summer I decided to take a break from daily painting and social media to coincide with my kids summer break.
