This is my first completed work of 2025 and I'm so happy with it. Going forward, I'm planning on introducing living creatures into my still lifes. Like flowers, they will not exist for a long time and I believe that their beauty should be enjoyed for the decades to come. The creature in this work is a male Eastern Tailed-Blue butterfly and I happen to reside in a small pocket of the United States (eastern Washington and northern Idaho) where they can be found. They are very small and the one in my art is not to scale. I used my artistic license to make it bigger so that we can enjoy the lovely details of its wings. This piece is currently on hold for an upcoming exhibition. Please message me if you are interested in adding it to your collection.
