This is another painting in the "Comic Book" series. Of course this one is also autobiographical. This trompe-l'oeil (to fool the eye) is different from the classical method in that the objects are on a flat horizontal surface. I used straight black (from the tube) in painting the photo and comic book. My reason for that was to replicate the original look of the comic and photo. I used a mixed black for the shadows, kaleidoscope and peace medallion.
