This beautifully hand decorated gold rimmed earthenware pot is a striking Moroccan “Jobbana” originating from Fez or Meknes. The name, Jobbana, derives from the Arabic word for cheese-jubna. Originally, these bell shaped lidded containers with a finial top were used to store butter and cheese and to curdle milk. They are also used to preserve harira, the soup with which one breaks the fast during the month of Ramadan and can be found in most traditional Moroccan homes.
