Originally from West Hollywood, California, Silvia began an artistic career in the fashion design industry. Upon moving to Northern California in the 1980’s, she turned her focus to fine art painting.  After studying with a series of notable artist instructors ( Wayne Theibaud, Terry Miura, Suchitra Bohsle, and Susan Sarback), Trujillo continues to expand, experiment, explore, and develop her own creative style.

Silvia is primarily a landscape painter who works directly from life, or ‘en plein air’ as it was called by the great French impressionists. Color, light, and atmospheric conditions are initially what attract her to a scene. Although the process of painting on location is somewhat arduous, she finds great pleasure in immersing herself in the surroundings that she captures on canvas.

With a history of teaching and producing art for over 30 years, Silvia’s work is featured in gallery and museum shows, is collected by private and public entities all over the world, and has won numerous awards. Currently she stays active in the Oregon art scene where she lives.
