since we have more pumpkins than we can eat, why not paint 'em. this was fun to paint, all that orange!!! there are no blue pigments at all in this painting. usually i mix greens and shadows using some kind of blue but in this case, i used viridian for the greens, with dioxazine mauve (powerful!!!) and transparent oxide red for the darks. the cloth needed almost an entire tube of yellow ochre, so i have an excuse now to buy some more paint. since we have more pumpkins than we can eat, why not paint 'em. this was fun to paint, all that orange!!! there are no blue pigments at all in this painting. usually i mix greens and shadows using some kind of blue but in this case, i used viridian for the greens, with dioxazine mauve (powerful!!!) and transparent oxide red for the darks. the cloth needed almost an entire tube of yellow ochre, so i have an excuse now to buy some more paint. |
