I created this piece at a Derek Penix worshop in Houston, Texas. I was really struggling to capture the red of the pomegranates and finally had to resort to what I thought of as a lipstick type of red. Not at all what I was expected to work with the pallete I was using, but I couldn't argue with the results. Looking at these beautiful fruit hanging in a tree, wearing lipstick, soaking up the sun -- I just had to name this painting "Hey, Ladies."
