This is an intuitive painting. I start with a photo reference but continue to add and subtract until I feel a portrait emerge. I took a class from Caren Ginsberg who teaches this method. She is a wonderful teacher and introduced me to a type of painting that is so full of joy. This is an intuitive painting.
