Christmas Tree Bonfire. Indialantic, FL. 8x10 gouache on watercolor panel. Every year, Longdogger’s brings locals together for a massive Christmas tree bonfire on the beach.💙I loved this scene of a father helping his little one pitch a tree into the fire, so I had to paint it. My gouaches are super special as they are 100% archival after my three step varnishing process. (Credit and huge thanks go to artist Lena Rivo for helping me with this process). This means you can frame them without glass (just like an oil painting!) and they will last forever and ever, and can be cleaned if they ever need to be. This is pretty cool for a gouache painting, as they usually need to be framed behind glass. Of course, one can still frame them behind glass, but they are quite stunning without the reflective glass layer, so I encourage NO glass! I’m really happy to have this as an option for my gouache paintings. Bonus: These jewels still retain the beauty of matte, velvety gouache even varnished! They are beautiful! I love, love, love this medium and this new process. There will be many more! Christmas Tree Bonfire. Indialantic, FL. 8x10 gouache on watercolor panel.
