This is a painting I did in response to 9/11. I wanted to do a painting of the flag as it was being constructed. The section of the long stripes is sewn together, then the section with the short stripes and blue stars are sewn together. Then the last seam is when the put the two sections down the middle. Hence the title, The Last Seam. The fabric of the country was torn apart on 9/11 and each stitch (which represents we the people) will put it back together all joining as one.
