If you've ever had the pleasure of visiting Hunting Island State Park, near Beaufort, SC, the first thing you will notice is the lush thick palm underbrush. It's almost primitive in nature. I often wonder how early settlers, made it through. The swamp, is lined with loblolly pines, with the sun, almost stripping the pines from view.
