The Oakland Aviation Museum in California is lucky enough to have on display one of two remaining flying boats in the world. (The other is in New Zealand.) I love the mystique surrounding travel in the 1920s, '30s, and '40s, whether by ship, auto, or aircraft, so naturally I was attracted to this Solent on a recent visit.
For you aircraft aficionados: this particular aircraft was built in the mid-forties in Britain and had several owners/operators throughout its active years. You can find more details on the museum website: http://oaklandaviationmuseum.org/solent_flying_boat_32.html
