Media: Abstract Acrylic on Stretched canvas

"Mindquake" This message was inspired by and painted during a time of worship and a message at a conference called "The Gathering" in the Summer of 2017. It was painted with no preconceived idea but completely spontaneously. If I were to describe a meaning or message in the work, it would be portraying the transformation of thinking from religion or the earthly logical, and more traditional approach about spiritual things that are tethered to what we see and can figure out in this world, to the spiritual and kingdom realm that requires faith. In order to encounter the things of the eternal heavenly kingdom we must have much of our traditional thinking be shakened out and redone with a new faith filled perspective from heaven and the unseen kingdom. It portrays how the religions of man with all its striving, rules, traditions, and performance, must be overcome with new freedoms based in God's goodness, love, majesty, wonder, mystery. As we experience more of who God is, and who we really are as a result of this, we can go through the "mindquake" and truly begin to live and function from the "Heavenly Places" He says we are to operate from.
